My Grump: Motorist caught on camera using his mobile phone and laptop while wearing earphones by vigilante cyclist
From The Times, an article by Jenny Booth
A vigilante cyclist with a headcam has captured footage of a motorist driving in rush-hour traffic while apparently using three separate pieces of electronic equipment. The video appears to show the driver of a black Land Rover with a mobile phone in one hand, headphones in both ears and an open laptop resting on the centre console.
In the short clip the cyclist notices a mobile phone in the driver’s hand as the vehicle passes on Queens Road in Aberdeen around dusk last Thursday. The cyclist gives chase and catches up with the Land Rover as it comes to a halt at traffic lights.... The footage captured on the cyclist’s helmet-mounted camera was uploaded to YouTube.
Police in Aberdeen said that they were aware of the incident and were investigating. “The incident has been reported to us and we are following a positive line of inquiry,” said a spokesman for Police Scotland.
It's all a bit childish really, but you can see what the fuss was about here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOgumiBuEH0
This is all very well, but don't you think it's about time we motorists ought to start fitting DASH CAMS in our cars, so we can show the world what some of them bloody stupid cyclists get up too? Oh yea, like chasing after cars in rush hour traffic so you can film some misdemeanour and make a big song and dance about it?
What a story, but not as good as the email I got from a friend just the other day.
It's called: The Distracted Driving Incident
This morning on the Interstate, I looked over to my left and there was a Woman in a brand new Cadillac, doing 65 mph.
She had her face up next to her rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner.
I looked away for a couple seconds... to continue shaving in MY mirror, and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still working on that makeup.
As a man, I don't scare easily.
But she scared me so much; I had to put my seat belt on and I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the doughnut out of my other hand.
In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my mobile phone off my left shoulder, which fell into the cup of coffee between my legs!
This splashed and burned Big Jim and the Twins, ruined the damn phone, soaked my trousers, and disconnected an important call.
Damn women drivers!
